LATEST INFORMATION
It is now 12 years since we started this project. Land by the school has been further cleared and the pupils play all sorts of games on the flattened land - with much improved facilities. The toilets will have to be refurbished - we need more funds for them.

SCHOOL

The school now  has 10 classes including a new staff  room and a new nursery section which has 82 nursery-aged children. This was built by an eco-community project with the nearby Mida Creek volunteers. The school has 514 primary pupils.
A new Secondary school has been built adjacent to the Mzimma Primary school by the government – just because the Primary is doing so well - wow, that is something!!!!  A number of pupils last year passed the Kenyan Primary School examinations for the first time - 7 pupils came through the whole system and did very well. This year there are 17 pupils who are about to sit the exams. There is one 20 yr old who started school when free Primary education came into force – his name is David.

CLINIC and NEW DELIVERY ROOM

We opened the new  baby delivery room started during our last visit just 18 months ago. We promised to get enough funds to build it. So we had the privilege of opening it – lots of celebrations by the clinic staff . A baby was born on the middle Saturday of  our holiday - just 1.5 Kg - she would have been in an incubator in this country --they  named her Julie.

The Clinic is doing very well and gives the cheapest  medicines out to Timboni and surrounding areas.

OUTREACH

We are very proud of the clinic - every month they go to an area which normally would not get any medical treatment and give FREE vaccinations, treatment and test for HIV.  People come in their droves to have this free help by the staff of the clinic – amazing work by the dedicated staff.  Every month they go to new places.

ORPHANAGE

The Italian family who built the orphanage now have fully staffed it and the clinic continues to treat sick children and offer emotional support to many who have recently lost their parents through AIDS. There are 45 residents and 100 more come to the orphanage daily for schooling and feeding These children are nurtured and very well-cared for. If you would like to sponsor any --please contact Julie Jones

FUNDRAISING
We need to raise money for mosquito nets , school desks and further medical supplies.
If you can offer to have coffee mornings at your home / in church / or other ways of raising money --please contact any church member or Julie and Cec Jones.

Next year 2012 possibly in February, our well-loved minister Andrew and his family are taking time out of his sabbatical leave to visit the two projects. We have ensured he will be "looked after" by our friends who are thrilled by this possibility. He is also planning to preach and share the gospel with the people in local churches in the area
